Junior Training Squad (JTS)

Brisbane Volleyball Club runs a Junior Training Squad for each term of the school year. The JTS program allows high school aged male and female atheletes to get extra training outside of their school teams with a specific focus on skill development.

The squad trains during school weeks (not during holidays) and players sign up for each term of the year. Players can choose to opt-in and opt-out of the squad from term to term to allow them to pursue other commitments throughout the school year.

See the Term Dates page to check when the program is starting/finishing for each term.

The club is based at the Clayfield Sports Centre.

Please see the Venue Information page for full details.

Our coaches are committed to teaching Junior athletes correct technique and skill models to allow them to reach their full potential.

Each term runs a progression from Skill Acquisition through to Match Play systems and scenarios, so players can get a true sense of improvement in each term.

How to Join:

Please complete the online Registration Form

In addition to registering, all players will need to be members of Volleyball Queensland to participate. A lot of players who compete in Schools Cup will already be current members, for more information please see the VQ Membership page.

How much:

$90 per player per term.

For new players: Payment is by credit card in the online registration form.

For returning players: Payment is via the BVC App. We will send you instructions for this, but you can always email us if you have questions as well.

BVC has a strict no cash policy, and we ask that you do not bring cash or cheques to training sessions to give to coaches.

Alternative payment arrangements can be made in extenuating circumstances upon request.

What is needed:

There are no uniform or equipment requirements for players to participate.

However, we do recommend that players have good indoor shoes that are kept clean to give better grip. We also suggest players wear Knee Pads and bring their own water bottle to trainings.

We can help with where to purchase Volleyball Shoes or Knee Pads, just send us an email.
